I have lived in and around South Lincolnshire for most of my life, I started my career after University in business working for one of the UK's leading retailers, Waitrose.
Between January 2013 to August 2023, I worked in the UK Parliament and worked for two Member's of Parliament Nick Boles and Gareth Davies MP undertaking a number of roles, on a political side I also acted as Campaign Manager/Agent for the General Election campaigns in 2015, 2017 & 2019 within the Grantham & Stamford constituency, creating the campaign plan, communicating with activists, drafting literature, fundraising and ensuring our campaign followed electoral law.
I was first elected as a South Kesteven District Councillor in 2011 at the age of 20, and was subsequently appointed as Cabinet Member for Corporate Services & Communications in 2015.
In 2017, I was elected as the Deputy Leader of South Kesteven District Council, alongside the role of Cabinet Member for Business Transformation and Commissioning, which included responsibility for key public-private strategic commercial ventures, partnerships, projects and accountability for service areas such as property, HR, procurement and IT.
From July 2019 to May 2023, I was the elected Leader of South Kesteven District Council. The Council made up of 56 Councillors covering 365 square miles of South Lincolnshire with a population of 155,000 residents. My role as Leader of the Council was to provide effective political leadership and strategic direction for the council - which included developing overall strategy, budgets, policy arrangements and service reviews, alongside representing the council in the community and in discussions with regional, national and international organisations and partners.
In May 2021, I was successfully elected to Lincolnshire County Council as the County Councillor for Stamford East Division and also sit on the Economy & Environment Scrutiny Committee.
In July 2021, I was elected onto the Executive of the Local Government Association for Conservative Councillor's alongside being appointed as a Board Member of the LGA Local Infrastructure & Net Zero Board.
In May 2023, I was elected to the St Mary's Ward on Stamford Town Council. In May 2024, I was elected as Mayor of Stamford for a term of office which lasts until May 2025.
Outside of politics, I work in Communications and PR on development projects across Essex, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Norfolk.
