Chris was brought up in Westminster, educated at the City of London School, and spent much of his life in the RAF as a pilot, travelling widely including residence in Germany, Oman, and the US. He is a graduate of the US Air War College in Montgomery, Alabama. He has been based in the Stamford and Grantham area for over thirty years.
On retirement from the RAF, Chris was offered a position with British industry in business development working in the Middle East, India, and South Africa. He finally retired at 65, joined the Grantham and Stamford Conservative Association and was elected to District Councillor for Glen ward where he served on several SKDC committees, including as Chair of the Environment Committee, and on the management committee of several Internal Drainage Boards.
Chris is aware of the importance of making sound, well-researched decisions using the experience of others, and the maintenance of family, education, culture, and community; he also believes in freedom of choice and acceptance of the responsibilities that go with it. He enjoys reading historical fiction and is a railway signalman on the Great Central Railway at Loughborough.
